This event will start with a one-day workshop focusing on training essential software skills followed by a two-day research conference in the broad area of applied mathematics. The conference is open to PhD and postgraduate students. 

The workshop provides a valuable opportunity to learn valuable software skills necessary for both academia and industry, while the conference offers a great chance to present your research in either a poster or talk format. The conference will also include talks by invited speakers and plenty of opportunities to network.

There is a £20 per day registration fee which includes lunch and coffee/tea during the event and entry to the workshop. We are also offering limited accommodation and indicate during registration if this is necessary for you.

Keynote Speakers

Workshop

The one-day workshop will focus on training software skills that are essential in both industry and academia, such as writing unit tests, profiling code or programming collaboratively. Sessions will be led by experienced researchers and software engineers. The workshop will also include a plenary talk from Radu Cimpeanu, Associate Professor at the University of Warwick, who has a wealth of experience collaborating with industrial partners in his work on numerical fluid dynamics.
